Treeless all-purpose saddle made of thick, pliable leather with soft, dark brown fleece underside. Anatomically shaped saddle with excellent wither clearance. The surroundings are made out of leather. Seven D-rings and leather straps in front and back provide many possibilities to attach saddlebags etc. This saddle model is delivered with a pair of knee rolls, which can be positioned to the rider´s comfort.
Each Barefoot saddle has a thick, moulded, pressure absorbing panel on either side of the horse´s spine. These panels create a gullet to guarantee improved spinal clearance. They are also anatomically shaped to the rider´s thighs. Removable / exchangeable fibreglass pommel arch (available in several sizes – delivery includes size middle).
The Cherokee saddle has a higher cantle made of a semi-elastic material, which is anatomically shaped, to horse and rider and therefore enhances the horse´s freedom of motion and encourages engagement of the hindquarters and vertical flexion of the back. For the rider this newly designed cantle provides a deep, softly cushioned and very secure seat.
The seat is removable and attaches to the saddle base with wide, non-slip Velcro. Can be mounted with Barefoot fenders or English style stirrup leathers. Weight: approximately 6 kg.

The black saddle has blue stitching around the horses head. If you prefer to have an entire black saddle, you can easily blacken this blue stitching with some shoe polish.

Fibreglass insert for exchanging with the standard fibreglass insert for the front of the Cherokee saddle.
“Wide” sizes for EXTREMELY broad horses with no noticeable withers but instead very strong and broad shoulders. “Narrow” sizes for EXTREMELY narrow horses with prominent withers.
Use this insert only for a really extreme horse back; for a “normal” broad back (e.g. Haflinger, Norwegian….) the standard breadth is mostly sufficient.
Fitting couldn’t be simpler: open the zip fastener, exchange the inserts, close the zip fastener – finished!
