Treeless all-purpose saddle made of Drytex "milled nubuck" which is easy to clean and dries fast. Anatomically shaped saddle with a constant and distinctive clearance. Each Barefoot saddle has a thick, molded, pressure absorbing panel on either side of the horse´s spine. This forms part of the new patented VPS system which is now found in all Barefoot saddles. These panels create a gullet to guarantee improved spinal clearance yet still providing the perfect amount of flexibility in the saddle. They are also anatomically shaped to the rider´s thighs.

The seat is removable and attaches to the saddle base with wide, non-slip Velcro. Removable / exchangeable fiberglass pommel arch (available in several sizes – delivery includes size middle).

The Cheyenne saddle has a higher cantle and is made of a semi-elastic material, which is anatomically shaped to horse and rider and therefore enhances the horse´s freedom of motion and encourages engagement of the hindquarters and vertical flexion of the back. For the rider this newly designed cantle provides a deep, softly cushioned and very secure seat.

The saddle provides 5 D-rings to attach saddlebags, breastplates and crupper. Can be mounted with Barefoot fenders or English style stirrup leathers. The girth straps are covered with real leather.
We reccommend to use drytex stirrupleathers with this saddle, not leather or fenders, this saddle is a great 2nd saddle or a starters saddle.

Fiberglass insert for extremely broad horses or those with prominent withers

Fibreglass insert for exchanging with the standard fiberglass insert for the front of the Cherokee saddle.

“Wide” sizes for EXTREMELY broad horses with no noticeable withers but instead very strong and broad shoulders. “Narrow” sizes for EXTREMELY narrow horses with prominent withers.

Use this insert only for a really extreme horse back; for a “normal” broad back (e.g. Haflinger, Norwegian….) the standard breadth is mostly sufficient.

Fitting couldn’t be simpler: open the zip fastener, exchange the inserts, close the zip fastener – finished!
